In three consecutive transactions today:
1. The first person payed partially with 100+ pennies. haha, oh, and they simply dumped them into my hands for me to count them out.
2. The second person, although at least partially apologetic, ended up giving me 10+ coupons to scan
3. The third person went through fine, but then was looking at the coupon and seeing that something rang up wrong (2.77 instead of 2.44 as they thought it was supposed to be). So after having told another person waiting in a diff. line that they could come to my lane, I ended up having to go back, void the other 5 scans of the item, change the price on the item, make it for 6 items, then total it and all that jazz.. yea, all that for less than two dollars (and that other person had to go back to the other lane because it took that long)

bah. but it was an okay day. continued my green streak .. 490ish now

Tomorrow I'll be leaving at about noon over to my grandparents' house, where we'll head off from shortly after. I think we'll be picking up Bud down in the Tacoma-area around 2ish (depending on traffic), and then will get over to the Mt. St. Helens area that evening, probably set up the tent and all, and then go have dinner & come back to sleep.

Then Thursday is the big hike up to the very tip of the crater on Mt. St. Helens!!! And I think we're coming back that evening. me = verrry excited :)

A very blah-ish day, in all reality. Didn't do as well as I expect of myself at work (~270 transactions, got 3 reds within those. even though the store average is like 88% greens, I expect 99+% greens of myself). Other than that, however, nothing really happened during the course of the day. *sigh* it's the one downside to having shifts that take up most of the evening - I wake up late, go to work, stay up late, then go to sleep .. and start the entire thing over again

yea, so i totally just spent the last 20 minutes cutting some stickers up to take to work tomorrow to give to the kids that come through my lane. :) i'm excited. this job just keeps getting better and better...

Yesterday's "box score" (if you will) cashiering: 113 transactions w/only 1 red (giving me a 99%!!) & had a person open a target charge card (second shift in a row!). And going into tomorrow's 4th of July shift (at $12.75 an hour, thanks to time and a half), I have a streak of about 80 greens going :)

(to put it in comparison .. a lot of the veterans there still only get 90-95% .. and my average before now, excluding the first day, has been about 95%, so this 99% brought me an amazing feeling .. haha, especially when the GSTL [our team leader] saw the percentage on the number of transactions and reacted to it, I was alllllllll smiles and grins when ringing up the next couple customers)

haha, well, I have two half-written entries in my journal right now hiding so i can finish them at some point.

but regardless ... tomorrow morning = cashier training @ Target :) (and from there i can sign up for cashier shifts, and do the other trainings that I will need). I'm excited ... minus the whole being there at 10am via a bike thing. but yea, this will give me some good exercise each day on top of whatever I get at work. (haha, and saves me $2.50 that i would end up spending on the bus quite possibly) And I guess all the videos I watched today for the orientation weren't that bad, considering that the orientation was actually paid! (which pretty much was spent the very next hour on khaki pants so I have my uniform for tomorrow)

i need to get back into a good sleep schedule .. half the summer mornings I've been up at 8/9am (forceably), and half I've been up at 10:30-12ish (and similarly, gone to sleep at about 1 and 3, respectively). yea, that needs to stop :P

Finally finished season 2 of lost today... and yep, I am very "lost". Soo, now begins a 4 month wait for at least some answers in Lost, and still 6 more months until we see what happens to Jack Bauer.

6 hours to finish this 7-9 page EDF paper .. time to pull off another miracle like I did a month or so ago when I whipped out a 4-5 page Spec. Ed. paper in just over two hours (ironically after my other 40% Soc 268 exam...)

as my away message says:
6 hours to write about 6 more pages for my 6pm final tonight in MH 166 .. today, 6/6/06

updates just like the spec. ed thing every hour-ish or so.
needed: 7-9 pages
[now/12:05] ~~ 2 1/2 pages
[12:52 / 5hrs left] ~~ 3 pages (+a few lines)
[1:25 / 4hrs 25min left] ~~ 3 1/2 pages
[5:29 / 21 minutes left] ~~ virtually 7 pages. but many paragraphs still open .. many thoughts hanging right now.

in other words, i failed.

now i can only hope i get another mini-extension..

5-7pg research paper (1 page done so far)

Study for Soc final (including doing a TON of reading)
(it's at 10:30 on Tuesday)

Study for Spec. ed. final (including doing the midterm/final test banks so I can study off of them)
(3:30 on Wednesday)

I think i'm gonna sleep after a couple more songs ... and wake up around 9. I need to have this research paper at least halfway done by brunch ...

I wouldn't be that surprised if someone were to diagnose me with a learning disability. I find it quite amusing (in a very unamusing fashion, as my max sleep is dwindling slowly from 5hrs down) that this paper is on a case study about a student with a learning disability... even more ironic that it is about his inability to focus.

This quarter has seemed to be full of revelations of who I am ... this is no exception to that.

I want to get this paper done. I didn't want to spend all weekend. And yet, I have ended up spending Friday-Sunday now trying to do this paper, which really isn't *that* long.

Maybe I'm just lazy. I don't know. That's what worries me - I can't tell which it is. I think it's some inability to focus though, or maybe that's what I hope.

I really just want to get this done. And be able to focus. I hate how many nights like this it has caused.

Well, 3.5 hours of sleep last night certainly is not good. But it has put me in the position to possible pull off a miracle ... but to do that, I have to pull of a miracle here. 150 minutes to write up this Content Summary #2 in rapid fashion.

I'll update this entry as the time slowly ticks away ... [12:38:57 ... 12:38:58 ... 12:38:59 ... 12:39] :P Is it obvious yet that it's '24' night? :D

Updates:
[90 minutes to go // Like usual, i have about 6-7 paragraphs going at once, each with several sentences going at once. By 2pm I need to get at least one or two parts done to have a fair chance of getting this done]

[50 minutes to go // haha, jeez, this will be pushed to the last minute. quite literally. I have about 2/3 of it done, need to wrap everything up in it and produce some good explanations for a lot of what I said]

The Dreadful Thursday is even more dreadfuller today. 15 straight hours. Started at 8am, ends at 11pm at the earliest tonight.

At least it's nice outside? (granted, i'll be out there for about 1 daylight hour at best)
